At this time we do not have any dogs to retire at this time. We will however have a very special female pick of the litter guardian home dog to place after it has finished it's show circuit. The investment we have into this Bernese is extensive in showing, training and in our hearts. She will be about 2 years old when she is ready to place into a home. The selection of this dog is very special as this female will be our best representation of our breed in conformation and very well mannered and socialized, having traveled and shown in AKC events. You can make an application by filling out our application and emailing it to us. Our guardian program is really special to us as it gives our breeding dogs a fantastic life with a permanent family and gives our program room to grow. How it works
You get a health tested AKC registered adult mature dog who lives with you and becomes a member of your family, the dog may be finished with their breeding career or we have opted not to breed it. Adoptive dogs must be scheduled for spayed/neutered and then once completed, then possession of the dog and AKC papers can be transferred.
As an approved adoptive family, you would be responsible for all the normal pet care, such as: providing a safe home, feeding, grooming, normal vet visits, flea/tick prevention, training and toys.
You will be able to adopt the dog for a greatly reduced cost. Our adoption fee is a minimal for a purebred along with your commitment to spay/neuter

ADOPTION HOMES REQUIREMENTS
*Own your own home or have a history of renting. (proof of landlord approval of pet)
*Have prior experience owning, raising and training a dog.
*Have secured safe yard for the dog.
*Commit to provide premium food,
*Make sure the dog gets 15-30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week, preferably 2 times a day.
*You must commit to yearly vet visits following vet recommendations for the dog basic health care and vet care such as vaccine schedules, the use of certain medications
*Commit to a safe place for your dog to be during the day when you are gone or during vacations - fenced yard, crate, etc. structured for safety
*Commit to continued positive reinforcement training - including potty training - we do not guarantee potty training
*Commit to and pay for a spay/neuter of the dog to be adopted with our vet - Daybreak acres adoption will be completed upon spay/neuter
*Daybreak Acres must be allowed to potentially visit your home prior to adoption.
*Commit to love this mature dog for many years to come and provide them with proper nutrition, veterinary care, obedience training and exercise they need to have a full and happy life.
You must be willing to maintain open and honest, truthful lines of communications with Daybreak Acres. We have learned that Trust is Earned and Quickly Lost. This ensures that we have eyes on the care being taken of our special dog
